Question:
Products for this exact application can be found in hardware stores for between 1 and 3$ US. Some are flat disks with holes, others are cup-shaped. Be sure to measure the opening of the drain (inside diameter) before you go so you buy the right size. jdoee – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – > Can anyone tell me if they use anything that prevents the bathtub drain > from clogging with dog hair? heh. Scott, you are doing it all wrong, ya know. You need to get nekkid and get in there WITH your dog. Splurge on a $30 hand held shower device and then get IN there, man, WITH your dog! Put some steel wool in the drain, and put the bathroom trash can handy next to you to scoop the hair out. Trust me, it works. I’ve yet to have to drain out the septic system due to dog hair. Dogs get clean, septic system stays hair free, and afterwards, you can simply run that hand held puppy over your bod and take a good shower! Terri

I use a brillo pad(not the metal kind, the plastic kind)Just put it in when you start to drain the tub and it catches the hair great and is reusable.

Can anyone tell me if they use anything that prevents the bathtub drain from clogging with dog hair? I am thinking of using a rubbermaid sweater box with holes drilled in it to try and keep all the hair from the drain, but I think a simple mesh basket placed in the tub drain might be just as effective. thanks scott
