Mother's Day

Question:

What a great Mother’s Day piece!  Can I ask where you got it, Barbara? I’m a pastor and I’d like to read this on Sunday, but would like to give the author if known. Thanks–   Sue

Hi Sue, I’m sorry I don’t know who wrote it.  I got it in one of the zillions of "inspirational" emails I get from friends.  Most of them irritate me ~ (maybe because I think they are trying to tell me one quick solution for life in one short story), but *this* one I liked! — Barbara Joy The worst sin is not to hate a fellow creature but to be indifferent toward him.  That’s the essence of humanity.  George Bernard Shaw – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – >What a great Mother’s Day piece!  Can I ask where you got it, Barbara? >I’m a pastor and I’d like to read this on Sunday, but would like to give >the >author if known. >Thanks–   Sue

A MasterCard.com Mother’s Day survey of 1,000 American adults found that sons are more likely to hit the mark when it comes to knowing what their mothers want for Mother’s Day.         Men, by a nearly 2-1 margin (28 percent to 16 percent) over women, are more likely to take their mom to brunch for Mother’s Day — a gift moms indicated was their most preferred gift for the holiday (22 percent). Regardless of what mom wants, the most popular gift for Mother’s Day is flowers, with 30 percent of men and 28 percent of women planning on a floral gift, an item that was actually third on mom’s list (18 percent).         The second most popular gift requested by mothers is jewelry (19 percent), an item only 11 percent of the men and 10 percent of the women plan on purchasing for their mother. Of the mothers surveyed, a greeting card was fourth on their list (17 percent).

Thanks, Paul!  How sweet of you to tell us! I got a card from my sister ("I see all those great moms that can do EVERYTHING and it made me think:  I should get them to do some STUFF for me!"  LOL!) and a card from my doggie (hubby made that one for me with the doggie and the doggie’s friends pics on it) and a gift in the mail from my stepdaughter, which I am saving until tomorrow.   I’m going to see my mother-in-law tomorrow and take her a big dinner I made, along with a couple of gifts she wanted.  My mom and grandmother I took care of last week, since they are 500 miles away & I have to buy and mail theirs.  And, celebrated my own way today by going shopping for my grandbaby and buying her a couple of little summer outfits. So, I think I have all the bases covered! ;^D *hugs* —    BinnieBee – A Proud Old Fogie!         %%       (—-)      ( >__< )      ^^ ~~ ^^      ~f3as3~ Quit since 11/01/2001 http://binniebee.com http://cyberdigs.com

I was a little depressed because they were with me and not their mom. Her choice was to do something different. At least she got the kids tonight though. I could not possibly think of doing anything else than to be with my children.,D ‘D,JHGUQHGFHRQUHFC HR3Q
