The piping material makes no difference for an interior drain. Those "patented" systems ae functionally no different than Home Depot pipe. Go with the best company as installation is everything in basement waterproofing. > Hello. I am looking for some Basement Waterproofing advice. Hello. I am looking for some Basement Waterproofing advice. I recently had several different contractors come to my home, and all of them told me I need a sump pump along with there waterproof system for an internal drain system. I am fine with the sump pump (knew I needed it). However, each contractor used different materials for there waterproof system (when I say system, the method to get the water to the pump). It seems that a lot of companies use polyethylene corrugated pipe. While others use their patented 100% guaranteed method (usually some kind of PVC like corrugated pipe). Now my basic question is, do I really need the patented, will never fail, etc…, or is the regular polyethylene corrugated pipe fine? The difference in price can be upwards of a few thousand. If anyone can supply some good information, or point me in the right direction to getting quality information, it would be most appreciated. Thanks

I’d make sure I got a bid or two from a reliable older firm that has done a lot of this work in your area and be very wary of those who are selling "peace of mind" at a high price. What do your neighbors use?
