If it can be proven that the > job the doctor did is faulty, re-do will indeed be free. Risk > Management at your local hospital will make sure of that for surgeries > (you think they charge to take out that sponge they left in? No…).
And I have worked in Risk Management and I have seen how they go to great measurements to cover a doctors ass there for covering there own in the process! <wink> Bet Joan can enlighten us here too gang! > And I don’t know of too many doctors who will charge for an office > visit to fix something obviously screwed up at the last one.
Trouble is getting the MD to admit their wrong doing….it is usually blamed on the staff or the patient..or anyone who gets in the way of the ego!

After my last surgery I woke up in the recovery room (third surgery under anesthesia) and couldn’t breathe. I was terrafied I was suffocating and going to die. I could hear the rustle of a nurse or person behind me but could not draw a breath to call for help! Why wasn’t she right there? I could hear voices as I tried to gasp for air… it was a nightmare come true. I still have bad dreams about this incident. When I tried to talk to the anesthesiologist (sp?) he DENIED it ever happened!!! BLAME the VICTIM! I saw the sheet from the recovery room and no mention was made of it. The nurse finally did come over and ask me what was wrong – the moron!!! You can’t talk when you are paralized and can’t breathe. She didn’t say anything but to breathe through my nose as she put the oxygen tubes into my nostrals. And off she went! I struggled to breathe and after a few tiny wiffs of the oxygen I was able to breathe ok. But to DENY it ever happened!!! That’s what made me so furious. Now I need surgery on my both feet and am to scared that next time I will DIE in the recovery room while the nurses are off chatting someplace….. modern medicine stinks on ICE! — We wont even wonder where the anesthesiologist and Dr. were off to….. ><(((
