New house???

Question:

Hi everyone, Need to talk and can’t think of anyone who would understand better.  The rental house we have been in finally sold after a year of being on the market (and a couple of hundred people traipsing in to look at my dust bunnies.)  We have been given notice for March 31st so began looking hard for a new house to buy.  Between my disability check and the fact that my husband quit the government last February and started his own business, the banks were not overly keen on giving us a mortgage until this month.  Anyhow, found the right house and have placed an offer. They have not been back to us yet and I am on tenderhooks.  All main floor living except the boys rooms which would be upstairs and no-one but the housekeeper once a week need look at their mess!  And a level garden – nice and sunny!  2 decks – one on either side of the kitchen for my morning coffee and afternoon tea and my lawn chair, magic bag and ice packs.  Bliss.  Fingers crossed.  Will know if they accept our offer today sometime and will have subjects removed by end of next week.  My husband is away for a week so all this waiting and inspections etc. is falling to me – good stress though! Also Aase – hoping for you – I know you get the news today.  My dog is at my feet (1/2 lab, 1/2 horse???) and says dogs are great company. Take care. Kelly

Response:

Best of luck, Kelly… sounds like will be a great move. Just take your own sweet time on the fixing up and all… you don’t want to exhaust yourself!  (I’m tired just thinking about moving.) Best regards,

Hi Kelly,    The house sounds nice.   I hope it works out for you. My oldest daughter has a lab/horse.   I really like him and I brought him one of those biggest rawhide chews because I like him and nobody pays him any attention.  My daughter has this really nice back yard with planted 1/2 wiskey barrels with flowers in them and she told the dog chewed up the barrels—so when I was going over there one day, I brought the day the chew which he promtly threw through big plate glass window that is in the den at the back of the house..   ohhhh well   I ment well. signs. I hope it all works out for you.  We just moved into our new house in October, and we’re a loooong ways from doing all the "fixing up", but I figure we’ll be here for a long time, so what’s the rush! Congratulations. Christi

Well Harv, Good ole mom has always said that no news is good news…let’s hope so in this case. Maybe she has left us for the doggie!……Hope she’s not here because she’s getting acquainted! — Marijo Replies to:

Kelly;         That’s great advice.  I found moving to be really stressful, even when moving into our dream home.  Take it easy.  I hope it all works out for you!         Leslie

Well they accepted our offer and it was low!  Building inspection today and then we have 1 1/2 weeks to get financing approved.  I am packing 2 boxes a day – my family puts dishes on the table and I spend all day packing them bit by bit and then they move them that night.  The housekeepers are going to clean the new and old houses.  I am co-ordinating all the inspections and contractors but with my chair and phone that should be managable – I hope. well I must make lunches – really miss not having Pat to do these things. Thanks for the encouragements and hints. This last weekend was the first aniversary of our moving into our home. So, my wife decided it was time to finish unpacking.   Geez – give me some time! :) Walt — Visit my website at http://www.itsnet.com/~wdhanks/WaltHP.html
