Question:
We are planning to have a house built. Some of the builders here have gone to rounded edges on sheetrocked areas. These look very nice in the new homes. However, I saw a house that was 3 years old with these corners and the metal that is used at the corners seemed to be pulling away from the sheetrock in several areas. Is this a common problem with these rounded corners? We could elect to have built the normal sharp edges — Katsmeow

I think it’s more a matter of the sheetrock crew knowing what they are doing. Bullnose corners have been around (at least in high-end stuff) for at least a decade (probably at lot longer).

I’m hoping it won’t pull away. If it does he’s back here. It looked well bedded when they were working. I suspect it’s like anything… if the contractor followed the manufacturer’s instructions and knows his stuff it’ll stay put. John

Ours was also plastic. Been in 5 years and very satisfied with the corners. Have it on all inside corners to include windows and inside passageways. Gary
