This is not a breed for everyone and I know of nowhere where one can be obtained for free.  Even our breed club rescue group asks for  payment to give the dog the added benefit of having a monetary value to the owner.   This is not to say that any dog acquired for free is not going to get a good home but it does tend to create an atmosphere to many people that since they paid for it, it should receive proper care.   I have a Bully now and also have a rescue dog who has been badly abused and fought.  These are very sweet dogs who love TOO much.  They would do anything for attention. The rescue dog is a male (neutered after seized) about 2-5 years old.  He HATES other animals but loves people.  This is not a solicitation for homes!!  I have very set requirements for his adoptive home and only a very special family with a fenced yard and firm but patient adults will even get to meet him.  His name is now Bubba (since he’s such a good ol’ boy)  and he is trained and house broken.  He is also covered in scars and had no idea how to play with toys or what a food bowl was for.  It has taken a month to teach him to play with toys and he still resists eating from a bowl.  I believe someone hit him with the bowl or something similiar.  I know he was beaten with a stick that resembles a broom handle as the first day he was here and I started to sweep he about died trying to get under the floor and away from the broom.  He now will let you sweep right over his feet and doesn’t run in terror.  If you are serious about getting one and want a puppy, research the breeders through Dog World magazine or Dog Fancy or such.   They generally run at close to $800 or $1000.  Rescue has lots of dogs and is very honest about their behavior, needs, known problems ( and they are extensively tested), etc.  They generally ask for about $ 250. for an adult.  Bubba is listed with them but they are aware that he has special problems and requires a home that will give him love with NO physical punishment.  In the last month he has never required a spank, a simple firm and raised voice do it all.  He shows no sign of human aggression- no matter what you are doing.  I’ve had to pick of scabs and clean out many bites and slices on him and he stands perfectly still- that’s how I know he doesn’t like what I’m doing, he’s motionless.  When he’s happy he’s wagging and rubbing and doing everything in his power to get all the attention he can.   Also, you can expect this breed to be hard to train- they’re stubborn to no end.  They can become very destructive if they are bored, nasty if beaten, and in general they are NOT the ideal breed for anyone not experienced in dogs.   My first male ate the siding off the house- 4 feet high by @ 20 feet long.  So much for my ever getting into House Beautiful.  He teethed on my dryer, he punctures basketballs and soccer balls in a couple of hours, eats tennis balls, forget latex squeaky toys, put his head through the baby gate to keep him out of the living room ( where all the nice soft ‘chew- toys’  ie. sofa, chairs, etc. are)  He ripped through the chain link fencing and now has a stockade fence.  If you still want one, you may be of the right mindset to own one.   Bull Terrier rescues # is 1-800-BTBT911.  Think about it ALOT before you get one.      Good Luck   Jeanne
