Kerry Blues are pretty rare so puppies are hard to come by. Have you ever met a Kerry Blue before? They are not golden retrievers that is for sure. If you want a dog who will lay happily by your feet in the house and will just be happy with a walk at night, I doubt this is the breed for you. If on the other hand you enjoy stubborn, fairly dominant, high energy dogs who is constantly looking for fun things to do especially if he doesn’t get enough exercise ("oohhhh, let’s see what is inside of this pillow!", "the garbage looks MUCH better when it is all over the floor"), then maybe you might enjoy a Kerry. And yes, the don’t shed but they need a LOT of grooming. Do you have any other pets? Many Kerries have very high prey drive and are quite dog aggressive. On the Kerry-L (a mailing list), there was just a discussion about dog aggression. One woman had her two kerries literally try to _kill_ each other. They wouldn’t have stopped until one was dead. She had to drag them outside while they were still latched on to each other (she got bit in the process) and turn the hose on them to get them to stop. That said, they are still great dogs. And not are all are dog aggressive. Just be prepared that your puppy _may_ grow up to be dog aggressive. Thus, if you are dreaming of having a multi-dog home you may want to look at another breed. Or, consider rescuing an adult kerry that is known to be dog friendly.
