Hey Mick, Mollie seems to be just fine with Mel, which surprises me since she’s the most spoiled bird in the land! I know it’s about time I gave in to the disease…I just needed to find the perfect opportunity. (But dad, if we don’t get an animal from the HS, I have to donate the $$) He just hates to see me throw my money away! Hey! I like the idea of staying with the M’s! I’ll let you know with the next pair
Yup, hope to have Nora pics up by the weekend…I’ll let you know. Laurie

Laurie, don’t kid yourself …. he *was* excited to see you … his mom! > He just HAD to get out of his cage >with me, then as soon as he was, he realized "oh yeah, that’s right…I >don’t like her" >He now sits closer to me on their playstand, not having to move the >absolute >farthest away anymore…I say that’s progress!
That’s great progress. Since it’s only the fourth day, he’s still "testing the waters". Give him a couple of weeks, and Mel will probably turn into a "velcro birdy" … you’ll have to peel him off you! Seriously though, it’s been only a short time since he left the Humane Society which I imagine was a pretty noisy and busy place. He needs a little time to settle in after testing everyone and everything. >And the funniest thing happened…he dropped his toy on the floor and I >swear he said "uh-oh"! Too funny!
That’s cute. >I came home from work yesterday and found a surprise from dad…a 6mo >chocolate cockerspaniel name Nora! She’s the cutest thing I’ve ever seen >and much easier to handle than the demon dog!
That’s super! What a lively place your house must be now! Six months is still a puppy …. hope she’s housebroken! ;) Cocker spaniels are very cute dogs and, at six months of age, Nora’s young enough for serious training and bonding. Best of luck with your pup. > Now I just need to let her >see the bird cages and let them all get used to the idea of each other. >Should be an interesting couple of days around here… >Laurie

LOL…Lively is putting it mildly! But I guess I thrive on chaos. I think Mel and I are gonna be great buds in no time. L

Laurie, It’s good to hear that Mel is settling in so well. Is Mollie accepting him? You know, it’s about g.d.t. you give in to temptation and get another bird. the second bird is always the the most difficult to justify. It gets easier and easier with each aditional bird. You’ll finally get to the point that you can justify getting another bird by telling yourself it’s tuesday (or any other day of the week that ends with a "y") and you will believe yourself. So, are you going to name your next pair (and their will be a next pair) Mallory and Milton? or are those names already reserved for Mollie and Mel’s first babies? Inquiring minds want to know. Let us know when you get pics of Nora at photopoint. **Mick** My photo album can be viewed at: http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumList?u=29982

Well, this is day 4 with the new guy, and it’s the first day he actually squawked and seemed excited to see me! He just HAD to get out of his cage with me, then as soon as he was, he realized "oh yeah, that’s right…I don’t like her" He now sits closer to me on their playstand, not having to move the absolute farthest away anymore…I say that’s progress! And the funniest thing happened…he dropped his toy on the floor and I swear he said "uh-oh"! Too funny! I came home from work yesterday and found a surprise from dad…a 6mo chocolate cockerspaniel name Nora! She’s the cutest thing I’ve ever seen and much easier to handle than the demon dog! Now I just need to let her see the bird cages and let them all get used to the idea of each other. Should be an interesting couple of days around here… Laurie
