Yeah, no kidding. Aren’t we lucky? He’s got to be a total moron. Who would want to leave nice and warm all-the-time-Phoenix to come to IL? He must love snow and ice – YUCK! Deb
Response:
You did a great thing…I would still have reported him anyway….

Well, so far they are all settling in well. The canary is tentatively named Robbie, my mother-in-law named him. I thought it was a cute name. The 2 finches I have all ready named. The crested one, that looks like he has a bad toupee, is Moe ( hubby is a 3 Stooges fan ) and I named the other Fletch. They seemed fitting names, don’t ask me why. The tiels are settling in well at my sister-in-law’s house. They are in awful shape, feather-wise. Matted and plucked, the one female has her crest ripped off, their tail feathers are stripped. Poor things. They’re pretty friendly, though. Won’t step up, and have a fear of hands inside the cage, but if you put your finger through the bars, they’ll all come and huddle up around and nibble on you a little, not in a mean way, just kind of checking you out. She’s named them Afton, Mango ( after my departed tiel ), and Frankie. They are in a good home over there at her house, she’s gone and bought all kinds of things for them. As for the slimeball that had them, my friend did call animal services on him, but since the birds were removed, and the guy is moving to Illinois, there wasn’t much they would do. I guess when you are in a large city like Phoenix, they’re more concerned about the animals still in the bad situation. I’m with you guys though, I hope he doesn’t get more birds when he gets to Illinois. Jessica

good for you. I sometimes think the tattiest, most unwanted ones that cost you time and money, give you the greatest pleasure. I do conure and parakeet rescue and every time one of the really unhealthy ones responds to kindness, it makes me so happy I could weep. Good luck with your new birds, make hubby a special dinner and tell him just how wonderful and understanding he is and all should be well.

Jessica, You are a saint. Thank you for helping these poor little birds. What a creep that guy was! You reminded me about a poor budgie that a friend of mine had for a short time. Her neighbor found it in the woods while walking her dog. It couldn’t fly. She called my friend since she knew she had birds. The poor budgie was covered with scaley mite and had very long toenails, etc. She took it to the vet and they tried to save it, but they couldn’t. We are sure someone just dumped the poor thing in the woods. Very sad. Janet L.
