Uk counter tops advice please

Question:

If you are going to have tile floors, they will really set off a granite top beautifully.  Laminate will not look nearly as well.  Marble is not really suitable for kitchens as it is supposed to be porous and absorbs water and stains.   Granite is very durable and easy to care for, in my experience.  It was a little more expensive than the Corian but is worth it to me.  In two years I have found nothing that stains it (it is sealed), and I like being able to put hot pots down on it without worrying about damaging it.  If you are worried about the cost, try to see it as an investment which will add value to your home :-) Dee – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> Hello, call from the UK for help > I am replacing my kitchen with an extension that is underway > currently, everything is chosen except the counter tops/worksurface. > We have the following choices, granite or marble (both
