temporary fish tank

Question:

I recently built an 838 gallon temporary fish tank for a period of home renovation when I am between ponds.  If you are interested in seeing it, look at:   http://www.employees.org/~redneck/ghrc/fish_tank.htm Cheers, Mitch

Response:

Very impressive!  I’m sure the fish will love the new pond you build for them.  The fish you have with the lump on it’s side may just be deformed.  I just took a baby fish out of my pond the other day that looked like that and it appeared to have been hatched that way.  About the sick fish, another person just posted this link http://userpages.umbc.edu/~rrhudy1/health.htm with a goldfish that looked similar.  Hopefully yours won’t end up in the same state. Either that fish recovered (unlikely) or died and was carried away by crows while I was in Hawaii in June. Mitch

Hi there….         I did the same thing some years back because my original pond was too shallow due to rock formation. So we build a indoor tank (zone 4) made out of 4 x 4’s (4′ x 8′ x 3′) I had 20 koi’s in there and could not keep the water clean. So I got a 24" rubbermaid stock tank put 2 laguna filters on it and transfered 6 fish into that one. 2 fish tried to commit suicide  the next night! So of we went to make net frames to avoid this kind of trouble! I guess they did not like 24" compared to 36" in the old tank! Something to remember! Keep ‘m covered! Best wishes! Walt — I don’t care what your name is.. You are not walking on water while I am fishing!             _            /o           /}} /}          { {{{ } }          {{{{{ } }           {{ /               /             {/ }          {/WPS}
