Question:
I went to the laundromat the other day and used my unscented soap and no dryer sheet – none left in the dryer – but when I got home my clothes smelled like I’d used 10 sheets – had to put them outside – I’ve washed them 5 times and there is still some lingering odor. I was beginning to think it was just my nose but today when I used the washer here at my complex someone had used dryer sheets that smelled the same way in the other dryer – really strong. How can you get odors out? I tried boiling baking soda and adding it with no soap today – it helped some – I can probably wear them now. Thanks for any suggestions. Sherry
Response:
Try plain commercial white vinegar.. The kind you get in the gallon jugs. It usually will take out about any odor. I get those Downey fabric softener balls and put about 1/2 cup in one and add it to the wash. That way it is released during the rinse cycle.
